Dr. Nguyen likes to promote good eye health by making sure patients are educated about the latest advances in optometry. For example, advances in contact lenses, new equipment for more thorough ocular health examinations, and refractive surgery options are all great to know about as they could potentially improve a patient's quality of life.
Outside of work, Dr. Nguyen stays busy by keeping up with her husband and two young children.

I have worn glasses since I was in fourth grade, and in High School, I had an optometrist who I thought was the coolest adult ever. We lived in a small town in conservative Western Canada, and this man had a ponytail! I very quickly decided that I also wanted to be an optometrist (my parents preferred this over my previously stated dream of becoming a librarian).
I enjoy reading and sewing and love spending time with my husband and five (!) cats. I am also a huge Futurama fan and can quote entire episodes verbatim.

My journey into optometry began with a fascination for color contact lenses—experiencing the confidence they gave me sparked a desire to help others achieve that same feeling, while also maintaining healthy eyes and clear vision.
I stay up to date with the latest advances in dry eye management and contact lenses, and I’m committed to providing care that is thoughtful, personalized, and practical for each patient’s unique lifestyle. Building trust and creating a comfortable experience is at the heart of my approach.
Outside the clinic, I enjoy staying active through Pilates and hiking with my dog. I’m also a foodie who loves exploring new restaurants, cooking at home, and traveling whenever I get the chance.

Dr. De Leon earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. Before her optometry training, she completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at California State University, Los Angeles.
Her clinical training included invaluable experience at the Veterans Affairs Southern Nevada Healthcare System, the University Eye Center at Ketchum Health, Azul Vision, and various community health centers, such as Family Health Matters in Anaheim and the South-Central Family Health Center in downtown LA where she provided eye exams for underserved populations.
After a rewarding clinical rotation caring for veterans at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare, Dr. De Leon returned to the VA to pursue a residency in ocular disease, considering it a privilege to give back to the veterans who have served our country.
