Your caring, experienced eye care doctor & team

Miranda Hofacre, OD

Marinda Hofacre, OD - Chino Hills, CA - San Dimas, CACertified: International Association of Boards of Examiners in Optometry, International Association of Boards of Examiners in Optometry for Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease

Internship: Southern California College of Optometry, Fullerton, CA; Optometric Center of Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA; Dr. Carl Hillier, San Diego, CA (vision therapy and pediatrics); Five Points Optometric Center Denver, CO

Doctor of Optometry (OD): Southern California College of Optometry, Fullerton, CA

BSc: California Polytechnic University of Pomona

Member: American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, Orange County Optometric Association, Women in Optometry

“I chose my field because of my own personal experiences visiting the optometrist as a teenager. I had trouble in school until my eye doctor turned that around. With my new glasses, I could see everything, and my grades immediately skyrocketed. When I graduated to contacts, my optometrist changed my life. He was always helping me make my life easier and my vision clearer.

“I found optometry compelling because you could so quickly change someone’s life for the better. Young people come to us because they cannot see clearly enough to read their books or class materials. Teenagers and adults may fail a vision test trying to get their driver’s license. Middle-aged adults come in because they are frustrated that their reading material is all a blur. We have solutions for all those things.

“Optometry is a challenging and rewarding career. I really enjoy the relationships I have made with my patients. I have seen kids grow up and I have watched families grow. I continually offer the best care to them and their friends year after year. Since I enjoy what I do, my style of patient care is friendly, compassionate, thorough and very much focused on the patients’ individual needs.

“I hold myself to a high standard of care. My patients are important to me and I want them to feel that way. In every exam, we thoroughly test the need for prescription glasses, glaucoma, internal ocular health, surface ocular health, peripheral vision and binocular vision. We deliver quality care that makes a difference in your day-to-day life. Because without clear vision and healthy eyes, getting passing grades in school is nearly impossible, reading a medicine bottle incorrectly could have dangerous side effects and driving a car could be downright deadly. My goal is to spare people from those situations and improve their quality of life.”

In her spare time, Dr. Hofacre enjoys life with her two French bulldogs, Maximus and Petunia. Dr. Hofacre is originally from Brea, CA. She lives at the beach and enjoys morning walks and sunsets in the summertime. She is also a work-out addict who enjoys spin classes, Pilates, crossfit training and everything outdoors, including paddleboarding in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. Dr. Hofacre also loves tropical vacations and exploring new warm destinations.

Doctor of Optometry (OD): University of Montreal School of Optometry, Montreal, Quebec

BSc: University of British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia

“Most people consider vision to be the most essential of the five senses. Helping others see clearly – sometimes drastically better – improves their quality of life and helps avert preventable eye diseases. I hope to give my patients the best possible vision and enhance their quality of life.

"I take time to explain to each patient why they may be experiencing symptoms and show them what can be done to resolve the issue. This helps them be compliant with their care, as they are more likely to follow instructions and care for their eyes if they understand that this could prevent future eye problems."
